Changwon Mayor Huh Sung-moo said on the 16th that Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020, a business exchange event between World Chinese Entrepreneurs and Korean companies, will be held in Changwon City, including the Changwon Convention Center, for five days from November 11 to 15.

Along with Jewish and Arab, the world's top three commercial organization, World Chinese Entrepreneurs, dominates the ASEAN economy with a powerful economic power with assets worth 2,400 trillion won (Korean currency), and the next generation of executives of major ASEAN World Chinese Entrepreneurs’ companies hope to expand human and physical exchanges (mechanical and precision equipment, electrical and electronic products, transportation equipment, etc.) to foster advanced third and fourth industries.

Considering the characteristics of ‘Changwon City's main industry = Hwasang Enterprise Exchange Hope Industry,’ Changwon, which is highly dependent on trade, actively sought to attract exchange events with World Chinese Entrepreneurs to provide opportunities for companies based in Changwon to increase exports, make inroads into the global market, and attract investment. As a result of its aggressive push to host business-oriented exchange event with World Chinese Entrepreneurs, it was approved to hold the Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020 in Changwon.

Unlike World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention(WCEC), which is a biennial World Chinese Entrepreneurs friendship-building and information exchange-oriented event, "Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" is the first business-oriented exchange event between companies to be held within World Chinese organization and CEOs and executives of major World Chinese Entrepreneurs’ companies will participate in the event. Therefore, it is expected that Changwon will be the venue for business in name and reality between Korean and World Chiense Entrepreneurs’ companies wishing to enter ASEAN countries, as they will have practical business opportunities for them.

Since the hosting of the "Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" in February this year, Changwon City has formed a dedicated TF to find demand for trade with World Chinese Entrepreneurs for businesses in its jurisdiction, while conducting various business consultations for the successful hosting of the "Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" for central government ministries.

In particular, the Presidential Committee on New Southern Policy, which oversees the government's New Southern Policy, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will participate as sponsors to hold "Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" as an important government-level business event linked to the government's New Southern Policy and Brand K exports.

In addition, in order to overcome the difficulties of holding a normal "Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Changwon City operates "Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" as an event that combines online and offline.

Online provides high-quality business support services by operating 3D virtual exhibition hall, video conference, Korea-World Chinese Entrepreneurs’ Network Party, video Biz consultation, business and investment briefing, and on-air business visit.

Offline plans to invite selected members of World Chinese Entrepreneurs’ companies that can visit Korea from August to November to Korea to support normal business exchanges that are not affected by COVID-19 through 'Customized +1 Week Event', which will hold sales receptions, B2B consultations, business and investment briefings, and mini Hallyu (Korean wave) culture tours for Korean and World Chinese Entrepreneurs’ companies every month.

In particular, KBCCCI (Korea Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry) plans to establish and manage a database of World Chinese Entrepreneurs’ companies and big buyers participating in the "Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" through consultation with the WCEC founding member (Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry). Based on these DBs, Changwon will play the role of a domestic outpost on trade with World Chinese Entrepreneurs, focusing on kwce.NET, if it wants to trade between domestic companies in the future by establishing and operating 'kwce.NET', a platform dedicated to supporting business matching with World Chinese Entrepreneurs.

For business matching between domestic companies and World Chinese Entrepreneurs, Changwon City is first promoting business exchanges with small and medium-sized enterprises nationwide selected for promising consumer goods, K-brand, global small and medium-sized enterprises, and export vouchers with the cooperation of small and medium-sized enterprises and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. In addition, it plans to provide business exchange opportunities for Korean companies participating in “Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" among domestic companies that want to trade with World Chinese Entrepreneurs.

Changwon Mayor Huh Sung-moo said, "Changwon City has supported major companies struggling with exports with COVID-19 and has attracted the first “Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" in World Chinese organization since last year in order to vitalize the local economy by attracting foreign capital," adding, "The “Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020" is a rare opportunity to meet CEOs and executives of major World Chinese Entrepreneurs’ companies that have not been easily accessible to Korean companies." We will do our best to become the first year of the revival of the Changwon economy through “Korea·World Chinese Entrepreneurs Business Week 2020."
